Lughnasadh, also known as Lammas, marks the returning of Autumn. As the days begin to shorten, we celebrate the "First Fruits" as the Earth Mother is full with a ripening harvest. Its the time to begin gathering up the first harvests of grain, wheat and oats.
Lughnasadh is also a time to honor the Celtic Sun God Lugh, a master of arts and crafts.
On this Harvest Holiday we honor our ancestors and the hard work they endured in order to survive. This is a good time to give thanks for the abundance we have in our lives, and to be grateful for all of our blessings. Lammas is a time of transformation, of rebirth and new beginnings. Embrace your creativity!
Loaves of bread are traditionally made for the Lughnasadh feast, as well as an abundance of grains, fruits and berries. The Lughnasadh pillar candle is filled with ripe boysenberry and raspberries topped with a hint of dairy-fresh vanilla whipped cream. Like a Berry Cobbler to celebrate the season!
